As a Lover of Brasil. I’d like to throw one out there that I fell in love with. It’s called “Diary of a Provincial Girl” 2004. Director Helena Solberg Brilliant film.

It takes place in Diamantina.(.A place I long to go.) Through the eyes of a unique teenage girl with an unbreakable bond with her grandmother. She works to break the boundaries of her family struggles and her limiting surroundings and triumphs. Extremely well done, realistic and captures a lot about the Brazilian Culture. Hope some of you decide to check it out. I have a dillema people, i’m looking for a brazilian movie, but i dont have a title or an actor etc. I know that the movie is not so old (i dont know what year) in the movie they live in the 50’s or 60’s.

Its about a guy who loves prostitutes and later in his life he becoms one of the biggest ganster in his city (i dont know which city), having prostitutes working for him an doing drugs, the competition becomes big. The thing is that he is not a typical gangster, he’s well dressed and he has glasses and looks like Federer (the tennis player). Can sombody help me finding this movie please? What about “A Cadeira do Pai” Father’s Chair, with Wagner Mourahave you seen that yet i dont even think it’s on dvd yet it was at sundance film festival earlier this year impossible to find arg only brazilian movies i havent seen are impossible to find. Do you happen to know any good movies set in Sao Paulo I’ve seen sign of the city, journey to the end of the night, Quero another movie about a soccer player and a poor family, surfer girl any recommendations would be mighty appreciated. The story is a girl likes a guy and he likes her but they tend not to show there feeling towards one another. From memory they live across the street from one another. The guys was working in an Internet cafe or photocopy shop i think and has to do a crime (Bank robbery) maybe to get people off his back and i get the girl safe and out of harms way. I remember a blonde girl in the film and she used to be a top model for Brazil.

I cant remember her name. Look its a long shot but does anyone remember this film and can point me in the right direction. This film was made no more than 10 years ago I would think.So it a recent movie. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx in advance John.

Hello tudobeleza. I am Brazilian and i will tell u one thing. That’s was the best Brazilian film list that i have seen. I will try to watch all of them. I also would like to know where can I find brazilian films with English sub.

I was thinking maybe when i have free time put sub subtitles in some films and post it. Brazilian films are really good but we have this language little problem i mean not many films have english option.
