Name: Brent Marks Born: December 29, 1990 Residence: Jonestown, PA Marital Status: Married - Megan Children: Daughter - McKenna Rae Years Racing: 18 Sprint Car Driver Brent Marks is a member of the sports most established series, the Craftsman World of Outlaws. In 2017 Brent will endure his first full season with the series and at age 26, will compete for the prestigious Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year award. Brent started his racing career in 1999 at the age of 9. His father Jeff purchased their first go-kart at the Silver Spring flea market in Mechanicsburg, PA. The duo went out and won over 10 races and their very first championship together at Shippensburg Speedway in purple plate class.

Brent raced in the karting division up and down the eastern coast from 1999-2005 before making the jump into the 600 micro sprint division during the 2005 season. Already succeeding in karting, it was an adjustment for Brent and his father to gain the knowledge needed to succeed in the micro sprint division as the two cars were very different in size, horsepower, and suspensions. Through hard work and determination Brent became 'the one to beat' on the eastern coast. At the time, Brent won just about every big race you could in the division. 2008 was a year of decisions. Brent's dreams and heart pointed him into the direction of the 410 sprint car division, but he also wanted to try his hand at NASCAR. Brent sat down with his parents and figured out what they thought he should do.

They decided to try out for a driver development program located in Sacramento, CA. This opportunity was Brent's first experience racing on asphalt. After the week of schooling and testing, Brent was offered a position in the program and was offered to drive stock cars in California. There were a lot of things that it would have took to do it and Brent didn't enjoy his test on asphalt. From that moment on, he had a moment of realization of where he is meant to be and what real goals he has set for himself. 2009 Brent jumped into the 410 Sprint Car division with his family car.

Sprint Car Driver Dies

They were lucky just to get one car and one motor with the goal competing at Lincoln Speedway. Brent and his father never thought they could build their team much bigger than that but with success came inventory and with inventory came the opportunity to race at more than one track. As the team branched out, Brent was able to gain much needed experience. Brent chased the Lincoln Speedway track championship for his first 3 seasons with a very close battle in 2011 and 2012 for the championship. Brent decided in 2013 that he wanted to race different tracks and different series more often than what the local scene offered. He no longer competed for track championships but instead began seeking an avenue to become a World of Outlaw Sprint Car driver. 2014 was a trying year filled full of bad luck but It was also a break through year for Brent with 6 wins and his first 'high profile' sprint car WIN, The Living Legends Dream at Port Royal Speedway.

2015 followed suit and he won all 3 fair races at Port Royal Speedway (Labor Day Classic, Night before the 50, Tuscarora 50). Brent started his regional schedule in 2013 and has always been very competitive with the World of Outlaws and All Star Circuit of Champions at various tracks across the country. Each step he took lead him towards his goals.

Each step he took was made for a reason and his vision for his career is very clear. In 2017 at age 26, Brent is taking his team and living his dream by competing full time with the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series.
